The Topic : Light Skin Vs. Dark Skin
Growing Up in Today's World, society puts labels on every thing, even people! You look at a white man dressed a certain way, society could call them trailer trash . A black man with braids a thug. So what happens when we label within a race " Light skin against Darker skinned African Americans. At first I thought this was just a Female thing, But as I dug deeper I realized African American men have this same complex about the each other.
So I thought how in the world did this come about. DING DING DING , Slavery. The lighter skin Africans where considered better because they where closer to the the skin tone of there Slave Masters ( Caucasian). So they had "privileges " ! SOOO how did we adopt this way of thinking in the 21st century ?
